Discover the Best of Crewed Yacht Charters at the 2024 USVI Charter Yacht Show

Over 60 professionally crewed yachts showcased their elegance and versatility to brokers from across the Caribbean, U.S., and Europe at the 2024 USVI Charter Yacht Show, held at the luxurious Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas from November 8-11, 2024. This highly anticipated annual event not only kicks off the U.S. Virgin Islands’ vibrant marine tourism season but also highlights why the territory earned the title of Innovative Destination of the Year from the Caribbean Journal in 2024.

The event’s comprehensive program offered attendees a true taste of the USVI’s culture and hospitality. Highlights included a Carnival-style Opening Ceremony Parade, engaging seminars on coastal ecology, and exciting mixology and culinary competitions, where participants creatively incorporated locally sourced ingredients.

A Fleet for Every Charter Dream

The 65-plus fleet on display featured a mix of power, sail, multihull, and monohull yachts, ensuring something for every type of guest. From cozy, intimate designs to luxurious vessels, the event underscored the bespoke experiences offered by USVI’s charter yachts.

  • One Love, a 50’ Leopard with Captain Christian Perez and Chef Laura Smollen, won Best Yacht in Show – 50’ & Under and Best Crew in Show for their inviting atmosphere and exceptional service.
  • High 5, a 55’ Bali with Captain Umberto Genovese and Chef Daryl Surtees, earned Best Yacht in Show – 51’-59’for its retreat-like ambiance and unique features.
  • Liquid Sky, a 67’ Fountaine Pajot led by Captain Simon Pocock, Chef Amber Hoerl, and Deckhand Anton Van Geffen, took home Best Yacht in Show – 60’ & Over, impressing judges with attention to detail and luxury.

Exciting Competitions and Community Spirit

The culinary and mixology competitions brought an extra layer of excitement, showcasing the creativity and skills of yacht chefs and crew.

  • Culinary Winner: Glen Massey of Mahasattva wowed judges with innovative dishes.
  • Mixology Winner: Kyle Parrish of Windward crafted the best cocktail using Grey Goose Vodka.
